It is represented in every season of Shameless that the Gallagher’s live in extreme poverty, so how they interact/speak to others from the other end of the socioeconomic scale is unique to them. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, the Gallagher’s were raised in a community that didn’t punish for harsh, or improper language, thus, they swear a lot and don’t use correct grammar; that is their dialect. It is shared and understood by all inhabitants of the south side.
