Egocentrism
Defintion: the lack of ability to think of the world from others perspectives
A character in Shameless that is egocentric is Frank Gallagher. Frank believes that he is a perfect human being and he thinks he does not do anything wrong. Frank hurts his family emotionally and physically throughout the show but never seems to think that he is in the wrong. This is Frank being egocentric because he cannot see how others are feeling in a situation.
Egocentrism is when someone lacks the ability to understand others perspectives into consideration (Floyd, 2017). This can affect the way we see others, and assume that others see the world the same way we do.
