Self-Monitoring
Definiton: awareness of ones behavior and how it affects others.
Frank fits into yet another category, self-monitoring. Frank is the most opinionated person in Chicago, and he will voice his opinion no matter who is around or listening. Frank is a low self-monitor. He doesn't care what other people think; he thinks that because he is a white male in America, that he has the right to say and do whatever he pleases (which he does, according to the first amendment.) It is more of an implicit rule to keep your biased or uncommon opinions to yourself, Frank doesn't follow this unsaid rule and he wouldn't even if it was said. Moral of the paragraph, Frank is the lowest self-monitor there is.

Self-monitoring is being aware of your own behavior and how it has to effects on others (Floyd, 2017). This is an important trait to have to be aware of how you look and act around others in social settings (Floyd, 2017).
